TRADE MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE
OF AFRICAN AND SOUTH AMERICAN COUNTRIES
MARRAKECH, JUNE 17TH - 20TH,2008
- NOTE TO THE DELEGATIONS -

1. Venue

The proceedings of the Ministerial Conference as well as the Senior Officials Meeting and the Workshop on the Global System of Trade Preferences (GSTP) will be held at:

2. Registration

Registration forms are available at the Conference website: http://www.mce.gov.ma/asamincom under the heading 'Ministerial Conference/registration ".
Participants are invited to register no later than Monday, May 5th 2008 by sending the registration forms duly completed to:

3. Reception

Shuttle buses will transport participants from the airport to their place of accommodation.

4. Land Transportation

The Government of the Kingdom of Morocco will provide transportation to the participants from their place of accommodation to the Conference venue as well as intra-urban transfers.

5. Accommodation

5.1. Supported participants

The Government of the Kingdom of Morocco assume exclusively the accommodation fees of the the Minister as well as those of two of his assistants, from June 17th to 19th.
The booking of hotel rooms will be made on behalf of the participants at the Mansour Dahbi "Kempinski" Hotel, located at Av. Mohamed VI- 40000-MARRAKECH-MOROCCO.

Accommodation fees cover the hotel bill for the cost of the room, which includes an overnight stay and breakfast.
Any additional costs will be charged to participants directly by the administration of the hotel on the day of their departure.

5.2. Non supported participants

The Government of the Kingdom of Morocco has accredited a hotel for the accomodation of the participants who will not be supported. The booking of hotel rooms has to be done by the participants at:

Double room : 700 Dirhams (MAD) (#95 US$)

6. Meals

The Government of the Kingdom of Morocco will offer a dinner to the participants at the Senior Officials meeting on Wednesday, June 18th, and a lunch on Thursday, June 19th, 2008, as well as a dinner on the occasion of the closure of the Ministerial Conference in the evening of the same day.

7. Weather

The average annual temperature in Marrakech in June ranges between nearly 17° C as a minimum temperature and about 33° C as a maximum temperature.

8. Utilities

In Morocco tap water is drinkable. Electricity is available to users, with an alternative current voltage of 220V.

9. Time zone

Morocco’s standard time zone is G.M.T.
Starting from June 1st, Morocco applies summer time, that is (GMT+1).

10. Languages of the Conference

The interpretation of the Conference proceedings will be carried out in 4 languages: Arabic, French, English and Spanish.
